Explored! #6

I don’t think this needs an explanation.

I’m headed to dinner so maybe I’ll leave a witty description later… or maybe I won’t… it’s friday!

Edit: Back from dinner and just picked up Clarissa from the mall… so I thought I’d finish my post.

Today was a really slow day at work. They let us go at 3:30, so I finally decided to do the shot I’d been wanting to do for a while.

I saw this old pump a while back while out driving and instantly fell in love with the setting. I jumped out of my car and went to the door… no one inside… it looked abandoned except that… there were drink machines inside that were all lit up. Well.. I didn’t want to just start snapping away cause there’s a pretty busy highway nearby and I was worried that someone would get suspicous. So I marked it on my GPS and decided to try later.

I’ve been back twice since then without snapping a single photo.

So today I was determined to find someone who knew what was up. So I parked and went to the house next door to ask if they knew the owner. No one was home. Luckily on my way back to the car someone pulled up and said that they used to own the place and that the new owner would have no problem with me being there and told me to tell them I had permission. They said the guy only opened it up in the mornings and very rarely in the afternoons.

So, this pump was kind of cool. I wish I could buy gas at the prices that were still on the dial… .62 per gallon.

Afterwards Tam and I had a nice little dinner at Ryan’s and were about to finish "There Will Be Blood".

G’ Night!

Strobist info: Bare Canon 430ex at camera left.

The Moment

Another shot from the sesssion I did with Julie and Mike. This is probably my second favorite shot from that day, and I haven’t posted it yet cause I was waiting to add some textures.

Well I finally got some really great textures, and after some experimenting, think I ended up with the edits that perfectly compliment this beautiful moment between these two.

Thoughts/questions on the editing anyone?

This is Hossein, my brother, and our last used weapon in the war against our powerful enemy!
We used a tree as a catapult, and shoot Hossein to the enemy, but he landed near our camp

For more information about the very serious Atomic-Snow war, check my previous posted shot!

Unfortunately my mouse was broke down yesterday, and I can’t edit photos with touch-pad! Just cropped this.. I wish I could add some smoke beneath and after him! Imagine the smoke yourself!

Product Description
Contrary to popular belief, print is not dead! With all the interest in online publishing here in the 21st century, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that information is still widely disseminated through the good old medium of print.

The advent of desktop publishing granted new levels of power and control to the layout artist and graphic designer, but it hasn’t made the process of getting the perfect print foolproof. Sometimes managing the disparate elements of fonts, images, colors, and more, while dealing with the quirks of page-layout applications makes even the bravest designer and production editor long for the hands-on days of moveable type. Creating a great layout on your monitor is only half the battle; how do you make it work on paper? Print production expert Claudia McCue takes on the challenge of putting ink to paper, offering clear, authoritative guidance to print professionals and anyone else who has been frustrated by the obstacles of getting electronic documents to print perfectly.

This new edition of Claudia’s classic book is now fully Adobe-centric, and shows readers how to use the different applications in the Adobe Creative Suite 4 together to create and produce great print documents. Use Photoshop and Illustrator to create raster and vector images, and combine them with text in InDesign to create eye-catching yet readable page layouts. Learn the ins and outs of fonts, and gain a better understanding of how ink and paper work together. Finally, “prefilight” or prepare your job for submission to a printer to make sure the printing process goes off without a hitch.
