A timelapse video of me working in Photoshop. The istockphoto steel-cage matches two designers against each other to go head to head, using elements from the previous design to make a new image. This is round three of Dr.Shad vs. jc_design. More of my work at jamiecarrollllc.com Music courtesy of Left Hand Black.
I should also mention, after you win your first battle, iStock allows 5 free (small) photo downloads per round for steel-cage use only. If photographers are opted-in for promotional use, their images are made available. Either way, it is Steel-cage licensed, regular istock license or my own work. Cheers!
Just graduated from Art school as a photo major, then I saw this stuff on istockphoto. Blew my mind and I instantly needed to know more. Thanks! Where people got their images was really bugging me.
I have used some of my own work, but it is generally all iStock photos. I setup a lightbox on iStock and fill it with images that I might use. When ready, I buy the files that I need. You can use other images, but you would need a license to use the images in that manner.
I have a question about the istockphoto steel cage matches. Do you use all of your own imagery? Are you only allowed to use istockphoto images? Or can you use anything you find on the internet?
This image took around 8 hours to make. I didn’t keep track of the layer count, but there was probably over a hundred layers. I have been using Photoshop for around 9 years. I have been making images like this off and on for the last 3-4 years. Thanks for the comment, and keep at it.
I’m now learning photoshop. . . . and i know i’m FAR. . . FAR. . . . FAR. . . away before i can do that. . . . it is amazing. . . . i just have three quick questions. . if you don’t mind. . . . how long did that take. . . . . a ball park figure or unless you know off hand how many layers it took. . . . and how long have you been using photoshop. . . .
