After graduating I spent 7 months working for a small non-profit company as an in-house designer but I want to start my own company. How should I go about it? Your advice on setting an hourly rate was very helpful.
Never worked for a company, I couldn’t find a job at the time, so I started my own company, so I have never worked for anyone else. I’ll post a video shortly to respond in detail about your question.
hey, how much do you earn minimum like 1st year as a graphics designer working for a company? and how much can you earn if you are successfull in the career?
Would you recommend asking for a deposit or full payment up front? And what do you think about holding back the finished work until receiving full payment?
Glad to hear it helped you. Dealing with knowing how much to charge for design work can be the toughest thing to deal with. Thanks again for your kind comments, I’m glad this is helping.
this helped me out a lot. its really hard to ask people to pay you money when your not sure your worth it. I have no formal business training, and I have a company asking me what my rates are and do I charge by the hour. Its all so unnerving.

I am a relatively recent graduate and I have been wanting to start my own company. Any advice on how to do that? How did you do it?

Yes absolutely, I get full payment before releasing the files. This is a good point, I’ll do a video on it.
