no its nothing got to do with layering or anything like dat. . . like when i want to draw something i dont like the background with it. i just want the drawing with no background but i dont know how to make the background invisible
got to the point where i have duplicated the gradients. . . how to i manipulate them? its not working when i click the gradient icon and then click and drag. . .

To edit your transparency options just go to the top menu bar and click Window and look for Transparency.

Make sure the object is selected before drawing out the gradient on it. Let me know if that worked for you.
