The dot.com crash of 2000 was a wake-up call, and told us that the Web has far to go before achieving the acceptance predicted for it in ‘95. A large part of what is missing is quality; a primary component of the missing quality is usability. The Web is not nearly as easy to use as it needs to be for the average person to rely on it for everyday information, commerce, and entertainment.

I am not a web developer. I have not done much since my first web server installedthe United States in December 1991. But I remain on wascurious bloopers read if the book. I really enjoyed reading the book. Jeff has found some of the bloopers are down right funny. Others are Sutli and easy to AME, but some are obvious, and it is surprising they did so often.

I looked at the pages of the sample, and saw fig. 1. 2 giving an analysis of a website that clearly has its overall objectives, etc., but the page in question was so clearly one of the URLs of the research network of the typo 'cookie-cutter sites domain abuse. Not a serious site, and anyone with half a mind knows web marketing. So even if I have no idea what the rest of the book says, I doubt the opinion of the writer and the current state of knowledge. I mean, if you do not spam squatter site, what else is he forgotten?

In my opinion, the book is a handy guide for those designing Web sites. It's pretty good illustrations and explanations. And it is very "folder. I mean, you can easily switch the topic that interests you, I recommend the chapter on the forms.

Although this book provides insight into the pitfalls of "too frequent" mistakes web, I must disagree with the conclusions of the author, in many cases. In particular, seems to blame a lot of web developers, as though there are often irresponsible, responsible for the content badly written, on-site maintenance and other dull "bloopers" as he calls them. The fact is that most web developers love to spend time to "invest" in doing a thorough job. However, in many cases, customers often do not want to pay additional money to make a thorough job. Although there is enough blame to go around the poor web design, it seemed to all municipalities for the author to hit the web developer for critical errors. I also take exception to his comments at times, especially its first mention Enron and sarcasm evident struggle against society. It refers to Enron made a bold statement and on its website about its size and stature. Enron, in May when they have problems, it is still a sustainable society, with many resources and continue to provide services to many clients. You can do without the contribution of the authors of cynicism and personal feelings about the company to prove its point. Finally, I found the layout to be somewhat "difficult to read. Often, the reference figures writer, what would be one to two pages to move you to see what he meant. The book is a very large and anyone with a better sense of book design would have done a better job on this book. These are just a few points of a long list of what's wrong with this book. Although the author makes some valid points, I found this book a little "too much to stomach. Read at your own risk.

This is a great book! It reads like a collection of bloopers from many sites known what not to do. That's what I like about this book is fun to read and informative at the same time. I'm building a site or be in the middle of one and open this book to make sure I made a blunder. What is beautiful is that the author explains how to easily correct your mistakes. Another thing I like is that the book is broad in its scope to cover all important aspects of Web Design and Consulting is the right way. Hopefully this will lead to better education and more usable web site designer.
