Where are the sketches? Design starts with thumbnails of concepts first, not straight to the computer. These are all very Web 2. 0 like, but i it were to start on paper with pages of concepts, something more solid might be found.

I havent started anything with a pen and paper since I was in high school, I do occasionally step away from the computer midway and sketch stuff out, but its much simpler to just bang out quick stuff to get ideas flowing in AI then on paper, at least personally.

So many of the drafts could have been perfect as the final logo. So much of this process is the almost random feelings if the artist or client.

we always learned thumbnail sketches in school, but i have yet to do that. It isn't the same impact as designing on the computer. you have little control over the typeset, and some of use simply aren't good at freehanding.
