One way to make this very clear is to cover the hair with a blank arrest, which is not very accurate but can be resolved. Very simply take the eraser and make more accurate, so just change the color: D
Consider the levels of the panel. Just below the label "Layers" is a dropdown menu that says "normal" by default. I think that's what you're looking for? (I do not know if it's the same for older versions of Photoshop.)

When you click on the level, you do not click where it says "normal" at this menu! I do not know what to do! I sooo can not change the color: (
