You'll learn something, if you are a beginner, but if you've already taken a course layout of this book does not offer much.

This book is a great upgrade, after getting my degree in design from nearly a year earlier. I was looking for a little inspiration "before going on the market again for a better job of graphic design. This book was everything I wanted and more. E 'exciting, educational and provides great insight into the creative process-oriented design. Wonderful guide for students and graduates. Good deal, especially for the price! My two thumbs up!

I love this book and is clearly influenced by the authors in the RISD graduate training, graduate studies at UIUC (with the influence by Renate Gokl) and work experience in the design world of Chicago. I think the reason that the word "work" is that the title of a series of books by Rockport. This is unfortunately a continuing trend in design books, which forced the authors to license, modify or revise the book to fit the idea of an editor of a series. Although in reality does not correspond to this series. (Why not let authors publishers simply publishing a book on type design, a book on identity design, whatever … And they must be part of a "series"? ) One criticism is that some of the typography is a little "crazy spreads section and chapter intro pages. I think a little restraint "more could be used for these to make them more functional in nature, but interesting. But it's a small thing. Forget the title. It is simply a very useful book. I wish I had found in 2005 at its first publication, or at least 2007 for the paperback.
