Using USB, the camcorder’s hard drive should mount like any other external USB device. Copy the video files to the Mac’s hard drive.
You will need either the most current version of iMovie HD (the one that came bundled with iLife08, with the 7.1 update) or the most current version of FinalCut Express 4 or FinalCut Pro 2. Earlier versions of iMovie HD and Final Cut can’t deal with AVCHD.
