Well, the exif / meta data is the information that the camera stores into each pictures that includes the exposure, aperture, if you use a flash, the white balance, etc…. But also if you have a photo open in photoshop you can edit the data and add your name and address, etc… to the photo and it will be saved that way forever.
So, perhaps all it is asking you to do is save it without adding any additional data or information about yourself or the particular photo.
